Review: LIT (Steam)

Venture into the dark hallways of a haunted high school and help guide emo teenager Jake as he searches for his lost girlfriend Rachael.

Pros:

  • Cartoon style graphics.
  • 73MB download size.
  • Controller support.
  • Gameplay is a light manipulation puzzle game. Use items to bring light into the room and find the exit.
  • Simple controls.
  • Clear minimal HUD that also acts as a button layout feature.
  • Easy to jump straight in.
  • Introduces new mechanics as you progress.
  • End of level breakdown showing how many steps you took and time taken. That is then displayed against the new time, Goal and the best performance you have had.
  • Multiple story endings.
  • 16 stages to play.
  • Bonus unlockable character.
  • Replay ability due to the scoring.
  • Instant loading.
  • Snack sized gaming.
  • Cool soundtrack.
  • Steam trading cards.
  • Level select.

Cons:

  • No tutorial.
  • Quite a short game.
  • Lacks online leader-boards.
  • No hint/tip button.
  • No Steam achievements.
  • Still feels like a mobile game.
  • Aside from a new character, You don’t get anything of value thrown in.
  • You can play it for free on mobile.
