Accident Review (PlayStation 4)

For our Accident Review, we become a journalist who researches old car accident cases. Help victims and perform first aid, obtain evidence and reconstruct the events to discover what really happened. This game contains blood scenes with victims of car accidents. Who to help first? How to do it the best way? By helping the wrong way, you can put other people’s lives in danger, or even your own.

Accident Review Pros:

  • Decent graphics.
  • 6.23GB download size.
  • Platinum trophy.
  • Works on Playstation 5.
  • Controller settings – Invert axis and sensitivity slider. Vibration on/off.
  • Virtual crash test lab tutorials.
  • Rhythm-Based mini-game on the loading screen.
  • You play as a journalist that researches old car accident cases.
  • First-person perspective.
  • You are free to walk around the scene and interact with items/people etc.
  • End of scenario breakdown.
  • You may need to perform CPR and this is done with a mini-game.
  • Rewind time option which you have complete control over from restarting at the last objective or a complete scenario wipe.
  • The game is presented as if you are playing in VR.
  • At the end of a successful scenario, you get the cutscene of the full accident in motion.
  • Ten scenarios taking place in different parts of the world, times of the year, and even eras.
  • You do get a lot of areas to explore freely.

Accident Review Cons:

  • Cannot rebind controls.
  • Feels more like a training aid than a game.
  • Quite long loading times.
  • The rewind feature is an all-or-nothing deal, you cannot go back a minute and instead have to go back to hard restarts such as the current objective or starting over.
  • Screen tearing happens a lot.
  • Ugly textures in places.
  • The music is not great at all.
  • The tutorial is not great especially with controls and procedures.
  • It’s very slow-paced.
  • The game is just a checklist ticker style.
  • The game never autosaves or anything so if you accidentally die then you have to keep repeating actions.
  • You are always following a list of actions and it never really deviates from it.
  • Moving around the environment with a controller is not as smooth as saying a mouse or touchscreen.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
