All in Abyss: Judge the Fake Review Pros

  • Awesome Anime graphics.
  • Download size.
  • Platinum trophy.
  • 2 save slots and a third autosave.
  • Text speed and auto save options.
  • You can remap the controls.
  • Cutscenes and interactions can be skipped, auto-scrolling, text and UI hidden, and the log brought up.
  • Awesome rock soundtrack.
  • Poker casino gameplay.
  • Optional tutorial.
  • Multiple choice encounters.
  • The atmosphere is fantastic, I love all the noises as you gamble and call during a hand.
  • In Poker, you call your hand at the end but in this game, it’s called showdown and is presented like a fight.
  • The end-of-hand breakdown shows the base, rate, and total attack amount.
  • In-game cutscenes and character interactions.
  • The main hub is where you can access locations in the world, and you see the area map, and it all looks fantastic.
  • Earn SP, and this is what you spend to cast spells.
  • Skills can be bought and equipped to change how the game plays out, I mean, you are a witch, so it makes sense.
  • Earn credits from playing and buy new spells and items.
  • Save and load when you want, but the game can have an autosave.
  • The presentation is honestly like a JRPG, but it’s Poker.
  • Many memorable and great characters to meet and interact with and play against, of course.
  • The item list is where you keep battle items, useful items, rarities, oddities, and treasures.
  • Fast loading times.
  • Skills can be upgraded multiple times to make them better.
  • Visit hostess bars in the entertainment district and drink, invite people, and doing this can improve stats or give temporary buffs.
  • When you go to events or find card battles, you get to choose the difficulty of the other players, which will affect winning, etc.
  • Really cool looking sequences when you cast a spell.
  • The card playing is quick and looks, and feels great.
  • Having the rise and lower bets on the right stick is so simple yet so effective.
  • Shortcuts to use spells, items, and think (get tips).
  • I like that there is a hand roll on the side that shows what you are currently on, like two pair or full house.
  • You get some say on how you progress, as you can go to specific places to play a load of games before doing story missions.
  • The shop lets you buy items like battle items, useful items, rarities, oddities, and treasures. You can also sell unwanted items.
  • The game mentions the ancient technology known as CD-R and CD-RW, including lesser Blu-ray, I mean DVD.

All in Abyss: Judge the Fake Review Cons

  • The trophies are written in Japanese.
  • No real voice work at all.
  • It is a real slow starter with a lot of dialogue with a sprinkling of many tutorial matches, learning the ropes.
  • A lot to take in in regards to the rules and spells.
  • Feedback on performance and playing is not always clear.
  • For the most part, I just want to get on with playing and creating my character, but the game makes you wait.
  • No online play or leaderboards.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
