Basureroes Invasion Review, Basureroes: Invasion is a 2D platform game with retro aesthetics in which a group of heroes with different abilities must save the world from an alien invasion. Run, jump, and fight your way through twenty levels full of danger and epic boss fights. Dr. Diogenes is back, but this time the real threat comes from beyond the stars: an alien invasion seeking to conquer the Earth. The Basureroes must prepare to spring into action and save the world. Once again, it’s time to take out the trash!

- Four button layout choices.
- Friendly fire can be turned on and off.
- Accessibility options – filters (scanlines/green screen/red screen/sepia tone/saturated), visual barks, Turbo attacks, and screenshake.
- Colorblind support is found in the filters section of the accessibility options.
- Three save slots.
- Four game difficulties – Easy, normal, hard, and hero.
- Two game modes – modern (unlimited lives), and classic (limited lives).
- The co-op uses a system where you can have it so when one person dies that’s it you all die or they die and only them.
- Four-player max local co-op and battle mode support.
- Run and gun gameplay.
- Tutorial signs as you play.
- Cutscenes are stills and text that can be skipped.
- Four characters to choose from and each have its own unique difficulty rating for using them. You can try them out before choosing.
- A 2D game world with 2D characters.
- Checkpoints are scattered throughout the world and used as a respawn time.
- The turbo attack option lets you hold the shoot button down.
- Simple controls with it just being jump and attack.
- Health bar system.
- The goal is to rescue all the civilians within a level.
- You have a clear Hud that shows your health and civilians rescued.
- Each level has a dog that you can pet or carry with you.
- Enemies can drop hearts which heal you.
- Carry civilians or dogs to the exit for a rescue bonus.
- Big bright locations.
- The levels are big enough that you can find alternate paths.
- Characters dictate where and what you can do in a level so it had some replayability as each character will play a different version of the level.
- Bigger or tougher enemies will have a health bar above their heads.
- The game plays like a Mega Man game.
- Big end-of-level boss encounters.
- World map level select with each level showing what you have and haven’t collected yet.
- You can replay levels.
- Speed run option for each completed level and it will show your best time.
Basureroes Invasion Review Cons:
- No voice work.
- The game is not that in-depth with settings and control choices.
- Local multiplayer only with no online component.
- The music is not great most of the time and it feels like it’s just one loop on a constant loop.
- Tutorial signs are slow, easy to cancel out of, and not that helpful.
- You can only shoot left and right not up and down.
- Wall jumping is not as smooth as you would like making simple tasks a challenge.
- Not all cutscenes can be skipped.
- You have to play a couple of levels before the game reveals itself properly.
- There is no way to quickly change characters.
