Contraptions 3 Review (PlayStation 4)

For this Contraptions 3 Review, where on every level there are a number of objects and monsters…The goal is to rid the level of the monsters. This can be achieved in different ways…The objects are affected by the laws of physics and play a key part in solving the puzzle. The objects form a “contraption” which is placed in such a way, which creates a chain reaction that will wipe out all monsters. The catch is that the contraption is broken – some objects are not in the right place. Your goal is to fix the contraption. You do this, by repositioning, flipping, or connecting the different objects.

Summary

I get what they are going for here, it’s a puzzle game where you set up Contraptions by placing parts and making them interact with each other to get the job done, the job in question is to eliminate all the aliens. In practice you get no help from mechanics, controls, or anything else so it’s a game that has you immediately wondering what the hell to do. Eventually, you get to grips with it all and it does give you a good mental workout, the level editor doesn’t feel necessary with no sharing ability or anything so it’s just a very basic creator, it doesn’t boast anything of not and instead shows off a lot of the shortcomings. Overall Contraptions 3 is a puzzle game that starts the moment you boot it up, it won’t hang around long but it does offer a different puzzle experience.
