Dark Quest 3 Review (PlayStation 4)
For this Dark Quest 3 Review, we play A rogue-lite tabletop that mixes card-based exploration with turn-based combat. Create your party, draw adventure cards, roll dice, and fight monsters to defeat the sorcerer and his magic.
Dark Quest 3 Review Pros:
- Nice hand-drawn graphics.
- 4.08GB download size.
- Platinum trophy.
- Works on Playstation 5.
- Roguelike Tabletop gameplay.
- The help menu serves as a text-based manual.
- Three save slots.
- Four game difficulties – Easy, normal, eldar, and legendary.
- Isometric view.
- Camera control is just panning the screen around.
- Game Start has you picking four hero classes to form a party.
- Every run is randomized.
- Love the atmosphere as the Game master looks over your game from the background.
- Excellent soundtrack and effects.
- Nice animations.
- The game plays out with a card being drawn every round and you then activate the card.
- Combat is turn-based and on a grid-style floor.
- Unlock new playable classes by rescuing them.
- Constant multiple choice encounters and questions and answers.
- Upgrades characters and you get to choose one of three upgrade choices.
- Use cards to play powerful attacks and abilities.
- Very easy to get into.
- Despite the appearances, it is quite a deep rewarding game.
- Heal in between events.
- Crystals earned are retained even upon death and are used to buy items to make future runs easier.
- You can abandon runs.
- Save and exit option.
Dark Quest 3 Review Cons:
- Cannot rebind controls.
- The Elder and legendary difficulties have to be unlocked.
- You only have four initial classes available but you can see the additional classes shown.
- No game Options.
- The movement in combat is horrible as they feel wrong and don’t flow.
- There is no real tutorial and instead just throws you in.
- Camera control in combat is not great as you cannot rotate the camera to even see the enemy.
- At the end of a run, you just go straight back to the party management screen.
