  • Pick up Intel by collecting it from laptops.
  • Intel is used to open things like security doors and safes.
  • Power-ups and abilities can be found and equipped.
  • It’s really hard to make out who’s who as the Ai does a really good job of being erratic and unpredictable.
  • The overall presentation is brilliant.

Deceive Inc Review Cons:

  • When in the rebind controls menu you are still controlling (moving) your character.
  • The tasks are not always clear.
  • Button shortcuts for menus don’t always work.
  • A lot to take in initially.
  • In-app purchases for real money credits.
  • Takes a bit of getting used to.
  • In the extraction phase, the music gets really loud and overpowers the voiceover.
  • The game hard crashes at random times.
  • Couldn’t see a way to turn off cross-play.
  • The tutorial feels way too bare-bones and doesn’t adequately prepare you for how the game plays out.
  • The training mode is just running around the empty lobby alone.
  • Getting used to all the characters takes time.
  • It always feels like you are two steps behind everyone else.
  • Once matchmaking is initiated you cannot quit.
  • Ai can sometimes go too far and get stuck in an animation loop.
  • Matchmaking does take a while.
  • Small text in the game.
  • Getting credits for the good stuff is very grindy.
  • Costumes for each character are like 10 color variations and one actual new costume with an additional palette swap.
  • You can never play with just bots and no human players.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
