  • Platformer gameplay.
  • Tutorial signs as you play.
  • 2D game world.
  • You collect water to then use as a projectile to break barrels, chests, etc.
  • Collect coins from many different waysblike breaking boxes or killing enemies.
  • The controls are really tight and precise, it’s fun to play.
  • You can duck and shoot projectiles.
  • Levels have multiple layers that encourage exploration.
  • Heart-based life system, eat fruit to regain health.
  • World map level select, you can freely walk around.
  • The shop lets you buy more life hearts and different shot types.
  • Shot types can be equipped in your inventory, and you can only have one equipped at a time.
  • Big boss encounters and they can drop coins and water. Each time you face them, their attacks and attack types randomise.
  • Cutesy-looking animations.
  • The level designs are good, and they take inspiration from classic games.
  • Different enemy types.
  • Get a surfboard so you can dash but also do air dashes.

Dinopunk: the Cacops adventure Preview Cons

  • No Steam achievements because it’s a demo.
  • The game will not recognise the PlayStation 5 controller at all. I had to use an emulator to mimic a xbox 360 controller.
  • Boss fights are bullet sponges.
  • You don’t always get a lot of water when in boss fights.
  • The shop needs more variety and stick.
  • I personally didn’t like the music.
  • No graphics settings or accessibility.
