  • Fantastic-looking worlds.
  • Has a photo mode.
  • When paused the menu shows your exact Coordinates.
  • Many jump scare moments.
  • A main hub (council temple) where collected cards, memories, and lore is stored and can be accessed.
  • The Art especially on parchments and cards is really good.
  • Excellent sound work.
  • Death scenes from an Otherworldly is a cool cutscene.
  • Any interaction parts show on your Crosshair.
  • Spawning locations randomize every game.
  • At the spawn point, you always have a small opening safe area where you can get the essentials like a lantern and cards etc.
  • Safe houses and caves can give you safety from it all.
  • The oil lamp/lantern always grants you some light but focusing it will burn oil and allow you to scare away any entities.
  • Sound plays a huge part in the game and running and jumping around will alert the entities.
  • Find landmarks and places of interest.
  • Many ways to play the game.
  • Online co-op supports up to four players.

Eresys Preview Cons:

  • Cannot rebind controls for either the controller or mouse and keyboard.
  • The cold open of having a screen of menus and manuals is not that inviting.
  • Menus don’t always allow you to back out when using the controller.
  • The mouse cursor stays on the screen when using the controller.
  • The game is very choppy.
  • Invisible walls.
  • Expects you to read a lot of manuals and maybe watch videos and basically go out of the game to learn it all.
  • No help on the game at all outside of the manuals.
  • Takes a long time to get into.
  • Had a few struggles getting into matches.
  • Even in a single player, you cannot pause the game.
  • Reading the text on scrolls is not always ideal and it could do with a click to read so you can get a more legible font.
  • Flipping items you inspect is really slow.
  • Visual effects even with the option turned on to dampen it is overbearing.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
