Summary

Excessive Trim is a visually appealing pixel art game with a download size of 159.3MB. It offers both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions, which is a nice touch for players on different platforms. The game features eight color palette choices, adding to its visual appeal. The gameplay involves moving around and pressing a button to cut grass, hitboxes, or kill enemies.

Every run of Excessive Trim offers a new experience as the enemies, level layout, and power-ups are randomized. At certain points, players are given the choice of one of the free randomized power-ups. The game also allows players to turn the ambient music on and off according to their preference.

However, Excessive Trim does not provide any tutorials, which might make it a bit challenging for new players to get used to. Some players might find the gameplay repetitive over time, and it may not offer much replay value. There are moments when players might not be sure of what they are doing in the game.

One of the criticisms is that Excessive Trim gives up its trophies too quickly. Players can achieve the Platinum trophy within half an hour, which might not offer a long-term challenge for some. Additionally, the game does not offer any unlocks or upgrades, which could have added more depth to the gameplay.

On the positive side, Excessive Trim has instant loading, which is a great feature for uninterrupted gameplay. The main screen displays the best score and level hit, which can motivate players to improve their performance. The game also features cool animations.

In Excessive Trim, players collect weed to level up. Despite some of its shortcomings, the game seems to offer a unique and interesting experience and is an alright pick-up-and-play game here and there.
