First Sports Game for Apple Watch Announced by Eyes Wide Games

Eyes Wide Games today revealed that their upcoming one-touch baseball title – Watch This Homerun – will arrive exclusively on Apple Watch later this April as the platform’s debut sports game.

“We’ve seen where Apple Watch is going, and it’s clear that giving sports fans and gamers fast and easy ways to plug into their favorite pastimes anytime will be a defining feature of the platform,” said Eyes Wide Games CEO Stephen Griffin. “WithWatch This Homerun, we’re distilling the complete baseball experience down to its greatest hits in a form players can enjoy in just 10-15 seconds on the go.”

Watch This Homerun puts players in the batter’s box with the game at stake, taking heat from fastballs, curveballs, changeups and more to knock as many pitches out of the park with the touch of a finger before the game is over. While the focus ofWatch This Homerun is on short, satisfying bursts of excitement, a progression-based League system offers players a deeper, more persistent baseball experience over time. The game’s iPhone companion app tracks competitive leaderboards, achievements and personal stats against friends and the community.

Watch This Homerun is the first in a series of one-touch sports titles Eyes Wide Games has planned for Apple Watch. Future releases will play to audiences for soccer, football, basketball and more with the same streamlined approach to game-on-the-line fun and season play that can be enjoyed 10 to 15 seconds at a time.

Watch This Homerun will be available to download on Apple Watch later this month.
