- Contributions is what the game calls mission – you have four types of these to unlock and play – basic, special, showdown, and practice battles.
- All contributions will show rewards, time allocated, any special conditions, and what your objectives are.
- Resources and materials appear on the battlefield and can be picked up.
- Care packages on the battlefield represent different items like first aid, mines, hand grenades, etc.
- You have ranged and melee weapons.
- Cover-based shooting is a thing and you recover health quicker in cover.
- Enemies can randomly drop items.
- Performance evaluation at the end of a contribution is mostly graded in the seed in which you finish.
- Resources collected can be donated to the greater good and reduce your sentence or you can keep the goods yourself.
- You can replay contributions.
- Upgrade weapons with resources you decide to keep.
- Your thorn has a power gauge for three levels of charged thorn attack.
- What I like about the Thorn is it let’s you go off climbing all over the place, artack distant enemies in awesome action movie encounters.
- Big enemies called Abductors can have parts of them locked onto, depending on the colour of the reticule depends on what it does so it can be the pod, vulnerable to dragdown or a part you can cut off.
- Abductors have civilians in a pod inside them and killing the Abductor will release the civilian.
- Plays like a hi-tech over-the-top Monster Hunter in the bigger encounters.
- Awesome-looking character models.
- When in the field you need to rescue civilians by picking them up and dropping them off at special pods.
- Five custom layout save slots.
- Loadout lets you choose your two weapons, module layout, thorn type, and combat items.
- Modules can be attached to add further buffs to weapons and gear.

- It’s a game that unlocks new menus and mechanics as you go through the story.
- A very stylish-looking game.
- Great soundtrack.
- Your accessory has all the load-out options as your character.
- The boost pack you get gives you a load of melee weapons and modules to give you a real head start.
- All weapons and modules affect your overall power score for each item.
- The Deadly Sinner application is an option where you can make the game harder and give you fewer resources but give you better rewards and time taken off.
- Entitlements points are earned from playing and you spend these in the catalogues in your cell to unlock new permissions in one of the three entitlement categories – everyday (missions/jobs), aesthetic, and equipment.
- Sustainability is another way of saying how many lives you have and losing them all is a mission failure. Getting sustainability to 20 percent or less increases your sentence.
- Fast loading times.
- Your accessory can accompany you in contributions and you have basic commands for them like carrying civilians but you unlock more commands with entitlements.
- It’s a game for me that scratches many itches and is an addictive loop of farming and top tier action.
- Commonly after you do your objective you have a brief amount of time to quickly navigate the world and grab resources or you can press skip to finish straight away.
- The story is really good and has many cool twists within it and could be a look into the world’s future here.
- League of Panopticons is the leaderboards of all the areas as you all fight for the top spot, you contribute by donating to the Greater God.
- You can use entitlement points to redo your character from style to name.
- Even if your cell is cool, you have a huge screen in there showing leaderboards, and other info.
- In solo play, you can pause the game.
- Parts broken off Abductors are in the floor and you walk over then to collect them.
- Facility management is where you put entitlement and resources into either weapon or abilities development.
- Affiliates is where you create your own rap sheet and can share them online, it’s like a player card with you editing your – callsign, comments, Sinner pose, and accessory pose.
- Online play lets you do missions with other players and has its own hub.
- Invasion operations is where you can launch assaults on other Panopticons to lower their GPP and push them down the leaderboards.
- Vs Operations is team-based battles and again can help improve your Panopticons GPP.
- Earn a use permits so you can leave your cell and explore the prison and garden.
- The citizen’s promenade and cell gardens can have resources to find and events to find and take part in.
- Many multiple choice encounters.
FREEDOM WARS Remastered Contribution Edition Review Cons:
- The game did not automatically download the contribution pack so check your managed game content beforehand, you go here for the Japanese voice download aswel.
- It’s funny and bad but the game tries to say your name and it has mixed results.
- The allegiance part of character creator doesn’t seem that important and you don’t get told anything about it when choosing.
- Music volumes sound all over the place with the music being louder than the voices happening a lot.
- The character creator is limited with no dedicated facial hair choices and you cannot be bald!
- You cannot set the interaction text to auto-scroll.
- The game is a slow starter as you have to do a whole series of tutorial-like contributions and get loads of stories.
- Learning how to quickly switch between lock on areas is not as smooth as you want.
- No accessibility options like Colourblind or changing button mashing to holding the button down.
- Small name entry.
- The camera goes crazy a lot of time in combat.
- Constant rule violations can be frustrating more because early game it’s constant.
- I’m saying this purely so you know but you cannot transfer or even transfar your Vita save to the PlayStation 5.

Summary
Freedom Wars Remastered Contribution Edition offers a visually stunning experience with its awesome graphics and beautiful cutscenes, both in-game and cel-shaded. The game is available for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, with a download size of 11.72GB. Players can enjoy accessibility options like text-to-speech and volume control, and there’s an optional Japanese voice download. The game also includes a digital art book and a bonus contribution pack. The action-adventure gameplay is complemented by tutorial pop-ups and a manual, guiding players through the initial stages.
The story revolves around surviving deadly missions to reduce a one-million-year prison sentence. Players can choose between two character models, male and female, and customize their appearance extensively. The game features a full 3D world with 360-degree camera control, and players’ actions and choices can affect their sentences. The “Thorn” item adds a dynamic element, allowing players to traverse land quickly or perform powerful attacks. Contributions, the game’s missions, come in four types: basic, special, showdown, and practice battles, each with specific rewards and objectives.
The game shines with its stylish design, great soundtrack, and addictive gameplay loop. Players can upgrade weapons, collect resources, and replay contributions. The “Deadly Sinner” application offers a challenging mode with better rewards. Entitlement points earned from playing can be spent to unlock new permissions, and the game features fast loading times. Online play includes missions with other players, team-based battles, and invasion operations. The League of Panopticons leaderboard adds a competitive element.
However, the game has its drawbacks. The character creator lacks options for facial hair and baldness, and the interaction text cannot be set to auto-scroll. The game starts slowly with a series of tutorial-like contributions, and the camera can be erratic during combat. Accessibility options like colorblind settings are missing, and constant rule violations can be frustrating. Additionally, the game does not automatically download the contribution pack, and the music volume can be inconsistent.
In summary, Freedom Wars Remastered Contribution Edition is a visually impressive and engaging game with a compelling story and dynamic gameplay. While it has some limitations in character customization and accessibility, its strengths in graphics, soundtrack, and addictive gameplay make it a worthwhile experience for action-adventure fans and is a triumphant return for the previously VITA exclusive to the primetime.
