Goliath Depot Review, Close all doors, kick away the enemies, and rack up your score in 4 worlds filled with single-screen levels inspired by tough-as-nail retro arcade platformers. Are you good enough to lift the curse of the Goliath Depot?

Goliath Depot Review Pros:

  • Decent pixel art graphics.
  • 127MB download size.
  • Game options – screenshake, CRT filter, color saturation, vibration, and speed runner timer.
  • Action platformer gameplay.
  • The goal of the game is to close all the doors.
  • You can stun and kick enemies.
  • Collect coins within levels.
  • In the game cutscene shows the rules of the game.
  • Excellent Chiptune soundtrack.
  • Supports two players locally.
  • 3 save slots.
  • Two difficulties – normal and extreme.
  • Seven total characters with two available initially then five to unlock, but you do see the requirements.
  • Each character has a dozen or so color choices.
  • Before a run, you can choose to buy and activate power-ups like gliding, super crouch, etc.
  • Earn coins for buying new powers.
  • You have to run around slamming doors, collecting coins, and kicking the enemies off-screen all against the clock.
  • The combo counter kicks in.
  • When slamming a door it will stun an enemy and you can walk upto then to kick them away.
  • Enemies will come back.
  • Many enemy types.
  • All plays on a 2D perspective.
  • Very simple controls to learn.
  • The game is very addictive.
  • Has nods to older games.
  • A speed runner’s dream.
  • You get three lives, and then you have to pay with coins to continue or start again from scratch.
  • Clever boss battles.
  • Very moreish, even starting again doesn’t feel that bad as you go back and do better.

Goliath Depot Review Cons:

  • It cannot remap controls.
  • No online play.
  • Extreme difficulty has to be unlocked first.
  • No online leaderboards.
  • The tutorial is just a blink and you miss the cutscenes without in-game help.
  • You cannot view controls once in the game.
  • The jump is very small and takes some getting used to.
  • Just touching a spring will trigger you to stand on it properly and you have to use it.
