Hauppauge Game recorders NOW SUPPORT unlimited game recording,  Hauppauge Digital, Inc., the leading developer and manufacturer of HD video recorders, announced today support for PlayStation 4 with the latest firmware update from Sony.

PlayStation 4 users who have updated their system to version 1.70 and above will be able to record their PS4 gameplay with Hauppauge’s range of award-winning HD capture devices. Hauppauge HD PVR 2 users will also be able to stream their gameplay using Twitch, Ustream, and YouTube.

The PlayStation 4 has been able to record gameplay videos limited to 5 minutes since its launch in November of 2014. However, the ability to record, edit, and stream unlimited lengths of gameplay has not been available until now.

Using the HD PVR 2 or HD PVR Rocket will also give the user additional benefits such as adding music and game commentary along with game audio, adding overlays such as watermarks or additional information about the footage, and uploading directly to YouTube

In addition to unlimited recording and streaming with the PS4, all Hauppauge game recorders can be used with the Xbox One, the original PS3, the Xbox 360, and also PC game systems.

No additional updates are required for the Hauppauge capture devices to work with the PlayStation 4: the PS4 user will simply need to upgrade to version 1.7 of the Sony PS4 software and change a setting within the PlayStation 4 menu to disable HDCP.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
