Summary

This is a game where players can build contraptions and race or try to finish a course. The game has three modes: story, sandbox, and creators. It features car creation gameplay, Steam Workshop support, and multiplayer where players can create a room and invite people from their Steam list. The game also has a photo mode and animated cutscenes with a mix of in-game sequences. The story mode is like a puzzle game where players build a competent vehicle to get across an obstacle course. Players can break or store parts at any time, suspend the vehicle up high to make working on it easier, and parts can go transparent and snap together when they can connect.

The game has optional tutorial videos to watch at a level and button icons show for each action to make learning it easier. When driving, players have to feather the throttle or balance the car out across planks. The game is surprisingly easy to get into and has great locations and scenarios. However, there are not many graphics options and players can only change the graphics preset/quality on the main menu. Players have to click profiles to create a new game or set it to online/offline, which is not clear at all. The driving is loose and awkward, the camera can go crazy at times, and it’s not always easy to line up pieces properly. Overall despite a few stumbling blocks is a worthwhile bit of fun. It was less Nits and Bolts and more Maiac creator but with the community embracing it the scope and longevity is going to be a thing to see. For me its a work in progress for now and whilst some fun can be had, It will not be as good as say in a few month’s time.
