Summary

Mangavania is a Metroidvania with a Castlevania atmosphere. You go through the game collecting gems from level completions and spend them on new abilities like bows, lives, etc. OK I cannot sugar coat this, Mangavania is not a fun game to play, it’s a Metroidvania without a map! Without any coherent level design where it has so much verticality and lifts that it all gets confusing and just not that great. The combat is simple yet frustrating but with no settings for anything, the performance of it all is really bad from slowdown to screen tearing. I never felt like I cared what the game had to offer and just never got on with it.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
