MeteoHeroes Review Pros:

  • Nice graphics.
  • 8.29GB download size.
  • Platinum trophy.
  • Action-platformer gameplay.
  • Works on Playstation 5.
  • Nine World locations.
  • Tutorial pop-ups as you play.
  • Tells the story of ridding the world of pollution and solving issues like alternative power sources.
  • 3 collectible items in each location that you need to get to move forward.
  • Bite-sized levels.
  • You can double jump, shoot and block projectiles.
  • Is based on the cartoon series.
  • Set pieces will have you choose the one correct answer of 3 ways to pass an obstacle.
  • Handy button to direct you to the objective.
  • Level flyover.
  • Tree tokens to collect like coins.
  • Big end of the game boss fight.

MeteoHeroes Review Cons:

  • Very basic.
  • Tutorial pop-ups happen at every level.
  • Collecting coins is pointless outside of a trophy.
  • The last level is just one section repeated 3 times with you facing the same boss 3 times and they use the same attack pattern each time.
  • Not difficult at all.
  • A game all about saving planet earth has you using a helicopter more than anything else.
  • All the levels feel the same.
  • Only a few enemy types.
  • Little replay value.
  • No reason for the shield to have a charge to it.

Summary

Presented almost like a kids TV show, MeteoHeroes are a bunch of people who each have an elemental power to them like fire, water wind, etc. The game tells of them battling the evil forces that are polluting our planet, burning forests, and that sort of thing. As a platformer, your goal is to go around and collect the 3 items needed to finish the level with an optional 100 coin challenge sewn in. The location stake place all over the planet and have 2 or 3 set piece sections that have you needing to pick one of three options to clear the obstacle, there is only one correct answer and a wrong answer has you pick again. Its a very basic very low key platformer with nothing particularly special about it, the three items you need to collect are so important that the game will invisible wall block you in an area until you find it, luckily you can press a button and it will bring up a guide arrow but be honest just turn that on and it’s never a problem. I just found the game to be not that fun, even for a few easy trophies it never pushed me or entertained me in any way. Yeah sure it could be for kids but even then I think with the games we have nowadays this is still pretty tame. I’m not sure what the game is going for because I thought it was about saving the planet and that but the most used help in the game is a helicopter which is not good for the environment so it’s kinda funny how opposite it all is. Only takes about an hour to clock however so it has that. It means well but the game isn’t fun to play.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
