Metroland Review (PlayStation 5)

Metroland Review is an arcade game where you run and dodge obstacles at full speed trying to get as far as you can. It’s an endless runner that follows the heritage of the classics of the genre to deliver a game with endless action and lots of power-ups. In this game, you’ll experience adventures in the not-too-distant future where you play as rebels fleeing oppressive forces. To do this, you need to do what you know best: run and achieve good scores in each match.

Metroland Review Pros:

Decent graphics.

Endless runner gameplay.
You get the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 versions of the game.
Crossplay can be turned on and off.
Opening tutorial section.
Simple controls.
The game plays out over three lanes and you jump between them.
Earn tokens from runs to upgrade your character and buy new costumes.
Outfits can have unique perks attached to them.
The talents tree is where you earn exp to go up the levels and at each level, you pick one of two buffs or upgrades. (you can change them whenever you want).
Very accessible game.
Free daily gift.
Uses coins earned from in-game to buy chests, and flash deals for tokens.
You progress through a story and have a bar that fills in as you progress and does out rewards.
35 total outfits to unlock.
Full stats menu.
Every run has you being chased by the authorities.
Spend tokens to continue a run after hitting an obstacle.
End of run breakdown.
Online leaderboards with filters allow you to manually choose to upload your score.
Pick up bonus objectives to earn bonus rewards, it will be things like staying in the left lane or collecting X amount of coins.
Very addictive and fun to play.
It’s a great game to just chill out with.
Daily goals with rewards.
Unlock and use different characters.
Earn exp and level up to increase your score multiplier.
The Hideout has many rooms that unlock over time, here you can acquire new abilities and upgrade powerups found in the world.
Loot chests you earn are unlocked over time unless you pay in-game credits to speed it up.
Drone delivery is where you find and collect hammers in a run and use them to break boxes for Rewards on the daily tab.
Missions unlock in the hideout and these give you specific tasks to do and each one has a one to three difficulty rating, you actually choose a character you own to run it for you in the background and it takes real time to finish.
Anything and everything in the hideout can be leveled up to increase how good or how many upgrades and abilities you can do.
Easy Platinum trophy.

Metroland Review Cons:

No way to see the controls.
It does feel like a mobile game on the big screen.
You need to keep playing early on just to get the basic unlocks and reward systems.
It can be hard to see or judge obstacles at times.
The story part felt a bit redundant.
It’s all in-game currency but it does teach gamers about how real money in-app purchases work.
Repetitive but it kind of comes with the genre.
At times you get a mission that can never be completed because you never see the power up and you cannot drop or quit a mission.
