NBA 2K24 Review Pros:

• You get the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 versions of the game with every version of the game except the Kobe Bryant edition.
• Basketball gameplay.
• Official game.
• Six difficulty settings.
• Seven game types – My career, My team, Mamba moments, My NBA eras, WNBA, and 2Ktv.
• Awesome soundtrack featuring Warren G and Rick Ross to name but two.
• Game settings – quarter length (1-12), fatigue, injuries, game speed (0-100), foul out, on-court shot clock, shot feedback, camera shake, gameplay indicators, perfect release animations, player indicators, takeover icon, takeover location, injury and fatigue icon and location, action replays, ball handler text, and highlight play camera cuts.
• User and CPU sliders for offense and defense.
• Coach settings where you can have decisions, subs, etc. set to manual or auto.
• Adaptive trigger support. (optional)
• Create a menu for – roster, draft class, player, DNA, and shoes.

• Myteam is an online game mode much like Ultimate Team in Madden and FIFA.
• Myteam lets you choose a team’s starter kit for the base of your team.
• Evolution cards let you choose how to upgrade your cards making your own player style.
• Cool card opening and revealing sequence.
• Myteam has you setting up a team name, city/state, and abbreviation.
• Daily login bonus for Myteam.
• Dynamic duo card types work with other dynamic duo cards to boost both players.
• You can flip cards individually or all at the same time.
• Myteam does do a basic tutorial but it is more of a guided tour.
• Agendas in Myteam are a set of challenges you complete for Rewards.
• Myteam allows you to set up and edit 13/5/3-man teams with ten loud puts total.
• Adjusting your lineup can be done manually or with auto setup for things like best overall, best speed, same team, etc.
• Edit players in Myteam by adding badges (bronze/silver/gold), and shoes, treating injuries, and using any evolution cards.
• Shoes affect stats in Myteam.
• Single-player Myteam has six ways to play – clutch time, triple threat, domination, challenges, exhibitions, and freestyle.
• Shattered prize is a card broken up in Myteam and you earn pieces to put it back together.
• Multiplayer in Myteam has six ways to play – salary cap, clutch time online, triple threat online, unlimited, triple threat online Co-op, and play with friends.
• Mycareer has ten save slots.
• In Mycareer you can build up to four players where size and build will affect stats and how they play.
• Download the app and you can put your own face in the game.
• A character creator for Myteam has you – choosing an avatar face or scanning your own, starting from scratch or using a player template, choosing a name, surname, jersey number, position, height, weight, and Wingspan which all affect stats, you then allocate points into your stats which changes your overall rank, you get a trio of players you are like then you can choose team/test build/edit build.
• In-game cutscenes.
• Mycareer lets you start either in the the NBA or hooping in the city.
• An online world full of other players in Mycareer amd you go around and take on matches, see people, train, etc. You can make friends and challenge each other here.
• The journal in Mycareer keeps tabs on missions and matches, you can set map markers to help.
• In the game world of Mycareer, you don’t need PSPlus to see other players.
• Fast-travel the map in Mycareer by using the subway stations.
• Shut it down is where you build up a big lead and then fill the gauge with flashy moves, filling it to finish the game before the target score is reached.
• In Mycareer when you play one-on-ones or street games you can play whoever you want on the menu, It has 3 difficulties and you can see your opponent’s showing strengths and weaknesses.
• Has a proper sports broadcast look and feel to it all.
• When you nail a shot or pass it does look really good.
• Fantastic-looking stadiums.

NBA 2K24 Review Cons:

• Every time you enter the game settings you get the PlayStation prompt saying recording stopped then recording back on.
• Myteam team name can only be 14 characters long.
• Had major problems getting the download app to work and even when I did the results were bad.
• Cannot skip the cutscenes.
• No way to rebind controls.
• So much to take in.
• If you are new or not in the know of Basketball then it’s very daunting and the opening is cold with you not knowing what to actually do first.
• Mycareer is just a busy mess of people all standing around looking the same, you get bombarded with icons and pop-ups with no clue what the hell is going on.
• Movement in the Mycareer world is slow and not that fun.
• The players especially the created ones all have dead-looking eyes.
• Icons on the Mycareer map don’t click or use hover text.
• As soon as you touch a court for multiplayer in Mycareer you get the buy PlayStation Plus now message before it even tells you why or where you are.
• The world in Mycareer feels lifeless and flat.
• Menus and options are not clear.
• They should have an opening tutorial game like Madden and Fifa to help new players.
• The movement isn’t as smooth and fluid as I would have anticipated.
• The actual on-court gameplay takes some getting used to if you are new to the series.
• The actual performance of the game is not always smooth.
• Few dubious hit detection issues.
• I was kind of expecting a proper featured story mode but instead, it is just a load of small set pieces and scenarios.
