ONE BTN BOSSES Review Pros:
- Decent graphics.
- 500.4MB download size.
- Steam achievements.
- Full controller support.
- Video settings – resolution, color palette (light/dark/3 colorblind options) , and color animations.
- Can remap the action button.
- Shmup gameplay.
- You do a series of tutorials on the map to learn about the mechanics.
- Two game modes – roguelike, and campaign.
- End of a level breakdown showing time played, hits taken, damage per second, rank, earned GP, and how many attempts.
- World map level select.
- A clever mechanic. You auto-shoot and pressing the button changes your direction on the current rail. The more you change direction the less you shoot and vice versa.
- It’s a game that is so simple in practice but supplies a solid satisfying experience.
- The maps have multiple routes and end with a boss fight at the end.
- You can replay levels.
- Enemies will always show their health bar and where they plan to attack.
- The game is very reflex-heavy later on.
- Earn GP from levels.
- Learn new abilities and ways of playing as you progress.
- Before selecting a level you can pick which new unlocked ability you take in with you.
- The game is so well presented from the menus to the unlock tree and the game itself.
- If you fail a level you get told how far you got in the fight.
- Well written fun story.
- The roguelike will give random level layouts, random boss fights, and after fights you pick from a few random abilities.
- Online leaderboards.
ONE BTN BOSSES Review Cons:
- Gets very reflex-heavy.
- A lot of the levels turn into just picking the right ability.
- You have to unlock the roguelike game mode.
- It’s quite a drawing game due to how locked in you need to be.
- Blinking becomes its own little game.
