Summary

Paperman: Adventure Delivered is an action platformer game that supports a four-player local co-op. The game features four characters – Paperman, Express, Carl, and Scrolly, each with unique abilities like dashing, flying, etc. The game comes with both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game and has a download size of 1.55GB.

The gameplay involves collecting letters, parcels, feathers, golden letters, and the letters to spell mail in levels that are split up into smaller chunks. Each area will have character-specific scenarios such as flying across platforms or pulling out blocks. The game also allows you to invert the axis for each player and swap characters using mailboxes. However, when playing solo, you cannot quickly swap between characters.

The game boasts nice graphics with a full 3D world and 360-degree camera control. The cutscenes are a mix of still art with a voice-over and in-game interactions. However, the music in the game just loops the same tune over and over, and every character makes an annoying noise when jumping.

The game has had a few lock-ups, usually when loading, and is slow at respawning. The checkpoints are far apart, and the jumping and movement feel sluggish. Despite camera control, the game will put you into small areas and lock the camera. The combat, particularly throwing envelopes, is done in a burst-fire manner making it quite hard to use, and the hit detection is off and frustrating. You can go so far in a level and then realize you need to go back as you need a particular character, and this happens repeatedly.

Overall, It is a tough game to play from the camera angles to the slap-happy combat and terrible platforming, even trophy hunters or young players will grow frustrated with the decisions made in the game, I tried so many times to get some enjoyment out of the game but it never took off.
