Predator Hunting Grounds Gets A Killer update Just In Time For Halloween

It’s not been easy being a Predator fan and games, for so long we have had good ideas that never get fully realized, Predator Hunting Grounds for me is top three of the better games but it was always missing something and I think they may have finally found it.

Illfonics Predator game builds on their last game Friday The 13th using the same idea, a group of players against one killer, Here it’s a bunch of marines against a Predator instead of kids against a psycho.

In our review we praised how well the Predator franchise fitted the game genre, it played well and had some really good ideas. Generally, the idea is the marines have to fight Ai enemies, do missions, and extract whereas the Predator just straight up kills.

As with all games like this, the player numbers dictate how it all goes as it might have an offline play but that’s limited and not that fun so it lives and dies on its player numbers. Enter PlayStation Plus and the game got a much-needed boost of players, being able to get it free on Plus meant the lobbies were once again full and the game had had a lot of updates.

The updates for me felt more like the quality of life and much-needed additions than anything truly important. A lot of DLC came out from classic Duke skins to the many types of Predators, as I said it’s good but it needed the players and still needs a bit more.

Enter patch number 2.29 as it brings in the much anticipated nighttime maps! It sounds like a small thing but in a game where you are either hinting or being hunted, it’s a huge game-changer. Yes, you can see pickups from further away but it’s also harder to see the enemies! Night vision goggles now carry more weight, and to be honest it just amplifies the tension that much more.

The core game has changed somewhat by adding in a team-based deathmatch mode on new map locations, the speed of matchmaking has vastly improved, and so forth.

If you grabbed the game from Plus, had it back in the day, or recently got it in the sale there has never been a better time to jump in. This is a post to just say that the game is getting there and with night mode it’s allowed the devs some extra time to maybe get more into the game.

Don’t go in thinking it’s perfected, it’s not it’s still rough in a lot of places, I’m sure the balancing war is still ongoing, and how we need more maps and missions but as of now the game has a lot needed and requested feature.

Sound off in the comments below, is this one of the better updates? Is it enough or do you still want more? Would be interested in hearing your thoughts.
