Summary

Into the Dead 2 is one of those games that you pick up for a quick game and then subsequently lose hours to it. It’s such an easy to learn to pick up and play a game. To its credit, it chucks many levels at you and an impressive array of guns weapons and companions that long sessions are more or less encouraged. The goal is simple, kill zombies escape and buy bigger guns. In reality, apart from being fun it does come with a bit of grind unless you are lucky with ammo pickups you will spend a large chunk of your runs avoiding zombies and that means fewer stars which means less progress and new guns and rewards. The gameplay is solid but it hardly ever changes up again unless you stumble across one of the power weapons. I really like the game but it has a lot of limitations and grind and repetition that it does sour the taste somewhat but if you can get in the habit of a couple of runs a day then it’s fine otherwise you will probably get burnout.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
