Summary

Less dungeon crawler and more an arena brawler, Pylon Rogue is an alright game coming at you with PS2 era graphics and simple controls. The loot mechanic is a weird one as you never get to keep or sell stuff, The choice of items is surprisingly limited. I want to play it more but it just doesn’t offer any “hook” to keep me entertained. It feels like an early access game and is lacking in so many ways. The combat is fine and the loot drop idea is serviceable but we just need more variety, Some online and permanent unlocks. In short its a good idea but its missing so many now standard practices it falls just short of must play.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
