Risk System Review (PlayStation 4)

This Risk Systems Review takes us back once again to the game, Risk System features multiple endings and character interactions based on player performance, mirroring the experience of the protagonist gaining mastery of their ship and using the systems of gameplay to tell a story.

Risk System Pros:

  • Decent graphics.
  • 753.3MB download size.
  • Platinum trophy.
  • Works on Playstation 5.
  • Shmup gameplay.
  • Opening tutorial section.
  • Autofire – on/off.
  • Game settings – Auto breaker, skip cutscenes, rumble, and screen shake.
  • Online leaderboards.
  • Barrel roll up and down to shake enemy lock-on, increase vertical speed, and increase your fire rate.
  • Absorb energy from defeated ships to charge up your supercharged shots that cause defeated enemies to drop shield energy to restore your shield.
  • Breaker mode – as you absorb energy you charge your b – meter, you can unleash the shots that will destroy everything on screen.
  • Mission rank affects how the game progresses.
  • Six missions.
  • Score multiplier system.
  • Stats screen.
  • Clean simple Hud showing your health bar and b – meter along with score and multiplier.
  • Brief warning icons for enemies entering.
  • Fully animated backgrounds.
  • Fast-paced.
  • Can use the left or right stick.
  • Arcade atmosphere and presentation.
  • Big screen-filling boss battles with the boss health bar showing.
  • In-game cutscenes are handled as animated radio coms.
  • Quick restarts.

Risk System Cons:

  • A lot to take in initially as you learn the mechanics.
  • Difficult.
  • The screen can get very busy and make it hard to make things out.
  • Steep learning curve.
  • Can be really hard to move around fast enough.
  • Very reflex-heavy.
  • Cannot rebind controls and having your breaker, not on the B button is really confusing.
