Shine up your Gunboot: Downwell launches on PC & iOS

Independent developer Ojiro Fumoto and well-dwelling publisher Devolver Digital have released the charming action platformer Downwell on iOS and PC. The much-anticipated vertical shooter about a boy with guns for boots is now available on the App Store and Steam for $2.99 / £1.99 / €2.99.

Downwell is a curious game about a young boy venturing down a well in search of untold treasures with only his Gunboots to protect him. Make your way further and further down into the darkness filled with nasty creatures and mysterious secrets to collect the spectacular red gems scattered about the rocks. Step into precariously placed shops and buy some helpful items or level up between levels to battle well-dwelling monsters and uncover hidden caves filled with riches and relics. No two trips down the well are ever the same!

“All the kids want free to play games these days so how about this – purchase Downwell for $2.99 and then go steal $2.99 from your mom’s purse and boom, free to play,” noted Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker. “Grab me a couple bucks too while you’re at it.”

Downwell is now available for iPhone and iPad via the App Store and on PC via Steam with an Android version coming next month to Google Play and Amazon.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
