For this Smash Boats Waterlogged Edition Review, we play this action title inspired by the golden age of arcade gaming, when players embarked on a common quest to conquer all the levels and add to their growing troves of unlockables. Smashing your way to the top may sound easy, but a sea of enemies, zany Mayday events, and environmental obstacles galore block your path.

Easy to learn.
Each boat attacks and moves differently. Mostly in terms of speed and power.
Attacks are generally ramming them and hitting them with things on the side.
Submerge yourself to avoid damage.
Batteries drop from enemies and are used to replenish health.
Four camera views – default, pulled out, action, and near.
SMASH – collect the letter cubes off boats for a power-up.
Stars are earned by destroying the boat carrying them.
You can see enemies’ health bars.
The game generally plays out over a series of wave-based combat with a mixture of enemies and power-ups.
Special events are sprinkled in to mix it up a bit.
Can replay levels.

Smash Boats Waterlogged Edition Review Cons:

Cannot change controls.
No online modes.
You have to actually collect the star after it drops from a boat so you can actually not be 100 percent level despite hitting all-stars off.
The camera goes a bit awry at times.
You cannot change boats in between events without backing out to the main menu.
Can get tedious.
Batteries disappear quickly after dropping.
