StarTech Release A New Docking Station has announced the release of a new USB 3.0 Laptop Docking Station (USB3SDOCKHDV), which enables users to add HDMI and DVI-D, or HDMI and VGA dual video, as well as audio and Gigabit Ethernet connections to a laptop through a single USB 3.0 port.

The universal docking station allows laptops and Ultrabooks to be connected to peripherals such as monitors, keyboards and mice through a single USB port unlike manufacturer-specific laptop docks, which require that users’ laptops connect through a proprietary dock connector. This release adds to’s broad range of universal laptop docking stations, which provide users with an efficient and convenient way to transition between a fully mobile environment and a static workstation, especially in the case of workplaces that rely on hot-desking or hotelling desk space.

“This latest universal docking station significantly expands the functionality and connectivity of a desktop-stationed laptop or UltraBook, while taking advantage of the latest connectivity technologies” said Carey Cline, Senior Product Manager for’s Laptop Accessories product line. “Our laptop docks make it much easier for users to connect their laptop to the peripheral devices they need, without the disruption of having to connect multiple cables”.

Features of the USB3SDOCKHDV USB 3.0 laptop docking station include:

Dual display connectivity: HDMI and DVI-D or HDMI and VGA
Supports HD resolutions on both connected displays
Additional USB 3.0 hub ports
10/100/1000 Mbps compatible RJ45 Ethernet port
Speaker and Microphone support via 3.5mm stereo mini-jacks
Supports the Windows® Aero® interface
Kensington Security Slot

MSRP for’s USB3SDOCKHDV Laptop Docking Station is £143.99 (GBP exc. VAT) in the UK. The adapter is available from leading technology resellers including Insight, and Dabs and is also distributed by Enta, Ingram Micro and Micro-P.
