In August, indie game studio Image & Form (out of rainy Gothenburg, Sweden) managed to beat all of Nintendo’s heavyweight titles on their own turf. SteamWorld Dig steadily pickaxed its way to the #1 eShop spots in Europe, Australia AND North America – and has refused to leave the top tiers.
SteamWorld Dig has been universally acclaimed and has earned great reviews: 10/10 from PocketGamer, 9.5/10 fromIGN and 9/10 from ONM, to name just a few. IGN also thinks it’s one of the ten best games ever made for the Nintendo 3DS, and SteamWorld Dig is shortlisted for Handheld Game of the Year.

So – we want to celebrate this with everyone. Therefore, SteamWorld Dig goes on sale October 17-20 in all territories(times vary with time zones), and we’re chopping 20% off the price. We won’t bore you with the price change for every country, so here are the regular/sale prices for a few currencies:
UK £7.99 -> £6.39
EU €8.99 -> €7.19
US $8.99 -> $7.19
And with regards to Steamworld Dig hitting the Japanese eShop:
About a week ago we finished up the Japanese version of SteamWorld Dig. It will come out in Japan some time in November.

As a tiny snippet, We also learn that work is already underway with another title in the Steamworld series. Brjann Sigurgeirsson is quoted as saying:
Also, I’ve played through the first playable code of the next game in the SteamWorld series. I was excited and nervous, but it is… AWESOME!
We will of course try and coax some more information out of him, But for now if you havent played Steamworld Dig, Whats wrong with you? Go grab it now whilst its on sale!
