Super StarDust Delta Review (PlayStation Vita)

The popular Star Dust series comes to the PlayStation Vita. Bringing us all the same frantic shooting and score-chasing madness we come to expect, Let’s see how it stacks up as we dive into our Super StarDust Delta Review. Defend the solar system as the last remaining starfighter − you’ll need cat-like reflexes, split-second timing, and pure arcade skill to make every shot count.

Super StarDust Delta Review Pros:

  • Bright HD graphics.
  • Platinum trophy.
  • The main campaign is a short affair but enjoyable.
  • Tutorials.
  • Twin-stick shooter gameplay.
  • Unlocked campaign levels can be replayed individually or all in one go
  • Veterans of the series will realize only a few of the gun types made it into this game, Favoring just the ice and fire variations
  • The gameplay otherwise sticks to the original in every way
  • New game modes are present, Each one using the unique Vita-only capabilities. We have one where you use the rear touchpad to slide your ship around the screen to one where you tap the screen to cause explosions
  • Great musical score.
  • Endless replayability with score chasing.
  • Familiar controls.
  • You can unlock new music via the Near function

Super StarDust Delta Review Cons:

  • Higher difficulties will frustrate you
  • Depending on how you hold the Vita could cause you to accidentally press the rear touchpad a lot, causing you to waste your special Bombs.
  • No way to reconfigure or turn off features/controls.
  • Short campaign.
  • Little replay value outside of the score-chasing.
  • Not everyone can use Near as intended.

Summary

In summary, it’s a great fit for the Vita, Due to its small file size, it’s perfect for snack bite gaming. Not expensive either and the new DLC added to this game has a lot going for it. Get your friends onboard and you will be score-chasing for months to come.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
