  • Two-player local play support.
  • 2D platformer gameplay.
  • 3 save slots.
  • Gameplay settings do not affect trophies.
  • Six chapters to go through.

  • You can skip cutscenes within the menu.
  • Opening tutorial levels showcasing the controls.
  • The camera pans on a 3D pivot as you go through a level. (optional)
  • In Single Player, you can swap between each character with a button press.
  • Puzzle elements throughout.
  • Such a clever idea.
  • Easy to learn controls.
  • Bright happy atmosphere.
  • The goal of the game is to get both players to the exit by any means possible.
  • Co-op settings – enable, and swapping characters.
  • Drop in and out Co-op.
  • Restart option in the pause menu.
  • How it works is one character is played in traditional 2D and the other character is on a 3D pivot and can freely move around more than the other.
  • Has an element of Mario Maker about it especially with the placing of blocks and setting up the level to have it completable.
  • Lightning-fast loading times.
  • Level select screen.
  • You can replay levels.
  • Each completed level shows the fastest completion time, how many restarts, and the death count.
  • Big boss encounters.
  • Reminds me of the Adventures of LoLo on the NES.
  • Each area introduces cool new enemy types and mechanics to learn.

Toodee and Topdee Review Cons:

  • No online multiplayer.
  • The slight slowdown in places.
  • Annoying that the skip cutscenes are in the pause menu.
  • Takes a bit of getting used to the camera pivot between 2D and 3D.
  • Any mess-up requires a whole-level restart.
  • The movement is very immediate and can catch you off guard.
  • No leaderboards.
  • Little replay value if you don’t care for completion.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
