Train Sim World 2 Cathcart Circle Line available now on Steam, PS4, and Xbox One

The first Scottish route arrives for Train Sim World 2 with the new Cathcart Circle Line: Glasgow – Newton & Neilston. Experience the hustle and bustle of a modern suburban network using classic electric traction, linking Glasgow’s suburbs with the historic Glasgow Central hub.

The Cathcart Circle Line and its branches date back to the late 1800s, the line between Glasgow and Cathcart via Mount Victoria opened in 1866, with the circle being completed via Shawlands in 1894. Neilston station followed close behind, opening in 1903, with the branches between there and Newton acting as a through route for coal trains. While the days of freight are long gone, both branches remain a core part of the Strathclyde commuter network to this day.For further information please visit www.trainsimworld.com

Phil Campbell, ScotRail Head of Customer Operations, said: “Seeing the Cathcart Circle Line come to life in Train Sim World 2 has been an incredible experience. We can’t wait to see what players think as they take a virtual tour around our scenic route on the classic Class 314 which has been preserved here for all to enjoy.”

On this route you will be taking control of the instantly recognizable BR Class 314 EMU, adorning ScotRail’s Saltire livery working on services between Glasgow, Newton, and Neilston. Retired from service on the line in 2019 this iconic EMU has been preserved in authentic detail on this route in Train Sim World 2. Sit in the cab of a true legend as you explore the Cathcart Circle Line.
