War Child and Verdun unite for charity with Christmas Truce

It’s that time of the year again! From December 16 – January 2 the Christmas Truce of WW1 is re-enacted in Verdun on Steam. This seasonal event will be part of the War Child Armistice to raise money for children affected by conflict. You can find the DLC page here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/439480

On a dedicated winter map players can throw snowballs at each other, play football matches, sing along with Christmas carols and send Christmas cards to their loved ones. New this year are the introduction of the Scottish Highlanders, a Christmas song on bagpipes, War Child Christmas cards to share, a War Child Armistice medal and a new trailerhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPj5-J_6mQY.

A limited version is offered between regular matches, and an unlimited version is available via a DLC for those that make a donation for the charity. All players that send out Christmas cards from the in-game trenches will automatically join the Verdun giveaway where they get the chance to win an extra Verdun key, trench whistle and/or Verdun peppermint can on a daily basis.

During the event the game is offered with a 50% discount. For more information please read the attached press release and check the online press kit: http://press.verdungame.com/

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
