  • Katamari gameplay. (roll stiff up and get bigger to roll up bigger things)

  • Brilliant animated cutscenes.
  • The soundtrack is so catchy and one of the best game soundtracks created.
  • Hold to the skip button on every bit of interaction and cutscenes.
  • Opening tutorial level.
  • The goal of the game varies but it is usually where you have to get to a certain size.
  • A clear pop-up shows what you have just rolled.
  • End of the level shows your size, how many objects you rilled up, and the top 3 elements that make up your Katamari.
  • Cousins are hidden or in plain sight within levels and rolling them up grants rewards.
  • The hub allows you to freely run around, chat with cousins found, check out the collection, vs ranking, game Options, save/load, and level select.
  • Game Options – appearance (gorgeous/usual stuff), navigate on/off, controls for 1p and 2p (usual stuff/simple), vibration, and move to select plaza (highway/usual stuff).
  • You can replay levels.
  • Each level shows if you have or haven’t found the hidden presents and cousins.
  • Such a fun and happy game.
  • Fast loading times.
  • The name of items collected will come up in rainbow colors to signify it’s a new pickup.
  • You get a brief warning if you are about to be hit.
  • Getting hit causes bits to fall off.
  • Photo mode.
  • Unlock and set your music tracks.
  • Customize your character with present unlocks.
  • Collectible stickers.
  • Auto saves regularly and you can save/load whenever you want in the hub.

We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie Review Cons:

  • The camera is still a nightmare making movement hard especially in tight spaces.
  • It’s really easy to misread options and replay a level by mistake.
  • Takes a lot of getting used to if you are new to the series.
  • The controls are not always great.
  • It’s not great at telling you what needs to be done in order to progress.
  • Doesn’t offer any online interactions like leaderboards or multiplayer.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
