Will Cyberpunk 2077 be the Best Game Ever?
CD Projekt Red has a lot to live up to when it releases its new title in April 2020. The Polish developer has been working on Cyberpunk 2077 for some time now, and gamers are expecting it to be a masterpiece. The company’s last game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, won a plethora of awards including numerous Game of the Year accolades. The medieval fantasy offering will be a tough act to follow, but early signs suggest that the new futuristic adventure could be about to blow CD Projekt Red’s previous games out of the water.
Little was known about the dystopian project until a few months ago. That was until Keanu Reeves turned up at E3, as reported by https://www.polygon.com/e3/2019/6/9/18659047/keanu-reeves-e3-2019-cyberpunk-perfection, and helped drop an incredible gameplay trailer. Viewers got a look at the stunning Night City location and a few of the factions that operate in the dangerous urban jungle. The whole thing looks amazing and already appears as though it will push the capabilities of this generation of consoles. Reeves won’t be voicing the main character in the game but will play Johnny Silverhand as a digitalized personality construct. He will be on hand to help players with vital clues and in decision making within the game.
There is a lot of speculation about what could be included in the mammoth title. Players are wondering whether there will be another side game like Gwent in Cyberpunk. The card game that took inspiration from offerings like poker and blackjack was one of the reasons why The Witcher 3 was so popular. But it is unlikely that a game like that would fit the futuristic setting of Cyberpunk. Instead, the developers may take inspiration from another casino genre. Few would deny that slots are the most evolved of the casino games, and the options found at https://games.paddypower.com/c/slots such as Temple of Nudges wouldn’t look out of place in the sixty years from now setting.
Games Radar has even suggested, at https://www.gamesradar.com/why-ciri-could-appear-in-cyberpunk-2077/, that there could be some crossovers from The Witcher series. In the last installment of the fantasy epic, Ciri traveled through portals to other worlds. She described entering a futuristic land with flying vehicles which could well have been the setting of Cyberpunk 2077. If the Child of Destiny did show up in the new game, it would be a seriously cool Easter egg. Maybe players will even be able to do a few quests with the Witcher character. It doesn’t seem completely out of the question.
Cyberpunk is a huge leap in a new direction for CD Projekt Red. If it is a success, the Polish developer will be up there with the biggest gaming companies in the world. The idea has been in the making since 2011, and after nine years of work, it is likely to be true perfection. There is a high chance that this futuristic epic will be the best game ever made.
