Windjammers 2 Review (Xbox Series S)

Windjammers yeah! It’s time to go back to the beach and throw discs at each other in the name of entertainment. Join us in our Windjammers 2 Review as we apply the sunscreen, adjust our Budgies and go all-in with discs flying all over the place! We take it to the beaches, we take it to the casinos but wherever we go the Lady empire will be in a bikini? Wooo this is Windjammers!

Windjammers 2 Review Pros:

  • Bright detailed cartoon graphics.
  • 702.6MB download size.
  • 1000 Gamerscore.
  • Classic Windjammers gameplay.
  • The game is you throwing a disc around, it bounces off the walls/environment and depending on where you score (get it past the other player) depends on how much you score.
  • How to play section.
  • A lot of different moves like tosses, slams, special moves, and lobs.
  • Three modes – online, arcade, and versus.
  • The online mode shows online players count, ranked match, quick match, play with friends, online stats, and leaderboards.
  • Versus allows a player or computer opponents.
  • Arcade mode has three difficulties – Easy, medium, and hard.
  • Ten characters each with unique stats for power and speed.
  • The Arcade mode is round-based and each round you pick from two opponents to face off against.
  • Very pick up and play to it all.
  • The controls are both deep and basic meaning players of all abilities can battle.
  • Mini-games happen in between every other round in the arcade mode.
  • Each environment you play in is unique like extra obstacles or a spin on how the points are scored.

Windjammers 2 Review Cons:

  • The difficulties feel all over the place.
  • Generally sliding around feels weird and makes it hard to catch the disc.
  • It’s pick-up amd play against other players but arcade mode is a big ask initially.
  • Cannot rebind the controls.
  • There are so many button combos to remember.
  • More a social game than a solo game.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
