Tackle strategic, turn-based missions as you maneuver land, air, and naval units. Take down enemy squads, capture bases, and fight to restore peace.
Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Review Pros:

- 6.6GB download size.
- Two games in one – Advance Wars, and Advance Wars 2 Black Hole Rising.
- 2 – 4 multiplayer on one console.
- Strategy gameplay.
- Optional tutorial.
- Anime cutscenes.
- Two difficulties – casual and classic.
- World map level select.
- The game takes place where on the battlefield a unit is represented by one person, when in combat it goes into an animated sequence showing the full unit.
- The number under people shows the health of the unit, lower health also means lower damage output. (you lost part of your unit)
- Cities can be captured by placing a unit on them, each city takes X amount to capture, and you take down its capture points but how much health you have.
- Terrain will add/subtract damage dealt/taken.
- Click a unit and get a clear grid showing how far they can move and where.
- Enemy turns can be fast-forwarded.
- Vehicles can be used and controlled the same way as units.
- Cities can restore the health of vehicles at the rate of 2hp per turn.
- Join vehicles by having them both in the same square. Doing this replenishes health.
- APC vehicles can park next to units and vehicles to heal them and give ammo.
- Vehicle fire from a distance means the enemy doesn’t fire back when you fire.
- The APC can take units and tea sport them around.
- You can capture enemy cities but they can also steal yours.
- Each mission shows your best score and how many days (turns) it took.
- Choose how much animation you see in terms of movement and combo or turn it all off.
- The Intel menu tells you about your current victory conditions, the team you are against, and the guide.
- The guide is a text-based book on all things tutorial.
- End of mission breakdown showing total score based on speed, power, and technique. You get an overall rank.
- CO is your leader and over time their bar builds until it’s full then you can launch their unique power.
- Earn coins from playing the game.
- The ID tag is your gamer card as it were, and shows off accomplishments and any awards you have.
- You can play the games in any order but you don’t get a spoiler warning if you go for Advance Wars 2 first.
- Many combat vehicle types are from ground to air to see and anti-air.
- Plays like a brutal game of chess.
- Six map regions to play on.
- War room game mode is where you play the Ai and build up a score.
- 2 to 4 local play with each player needing a Nintendo Switch and a copy of the game.
- Four CO characters to choose from – Andy, Max, Sami, and Olaf.
- The weather can change via a power move.
- Design room lets you create and/or share maps.
- Share maps locally or online.
Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Review Cons:
- No touchscreen support.
- Bare minimum voice work.
- Cannot rebind controls.
- You cannot pause the game when it’s the opponent’s turn regardless if it’s on or offline.
- Nintendo Switch Online is required to share maps online.
- No real game Options.
- Doesn’t have any leaderboard support for campaign scores.
