It offers a variety of gaming experiences through mutations that change the game rules, along with distinct game modes, each with its own concept.

- Drop animals into the pot and when the same two animals hit each other they blend into a new animal and then again if they blend with the animal again they change again.
- Plays best with a mouse.
- As you connect animals you build up the ability to shake and/or move the box around.
- very simple to learn.
- Highly replayable.
- Local leaderboard for each map.
- Unlock new variations of each animal, different box skins, and modifiers that can make scoring easier or harder.
- Three game types to unlock – basic is the standard mode, then you have one that is more speed-based and you can rain down animals, and then the third is a variant.
- Very addictive mostly due to how easy it is to play.
- A game occurs when a piece drops out of the box.
- End of run breakdown.
- You get a pop-up at the end of a game to say what modifier you unlocked and what it does.
- You can use different animal themes to mix it up so instead of animals you can do fish for example.
- Cause combo chains for bonus points.
Animal Shake Preview Cons:
- The game would not load when playing through Steam big picture mode.
- The controller messes up constantly and it is not worth the hassle.
- Tutorials are hidden away in menus half the time.
- The way the game shows unlocks is not great and could be simpler and be a bit more of a thing rather than a line of text.
- No online leaderboards.
