Atomfall Wicked Isle DLC Review Pros
- Beautiful graphics.
- 13.34GB download size.
- Nine trophies.
- To start the DLC, you go to Wyndham Village and meet a guy called Bill Anderson at the docks, who takes you to the island.
- The DLC will show on the map, but that’s only if you go looking for it.
- It is (and as the once famous Princess Jasmine said) a whole new world. There are new landmarks and secrets to find.
- The red telephone boxes are on the island with all new stories and interactions.
- New enemy types, including Aquaman off of Wish.
- All new metal detector spots to find that come with loot amd rewards.
- Fill in the landmarks as you discover them.
- You can filter the missions by location, meaning you only see the DLC lost.
- Meet new characters and shop vendors by exploring the world.
- There are a lot of beautiful spots to find.
- I found the island to have a real eerie, unnerving atmosphere; it was almost too quiet in a lot of instances.
- More a FYI, but you can still earn base game trophies when in the DLC.
- I like that you can always see Wyndham Village in the distance.
- They seem to be pushing bows and arrows on you as they are everywhere.
- More Gnomes to find and smash.
- Find new comics that are hidden around the island.
- The DLC has multiple endings.
- Play how you want.
- Boss-like encounters.
- Drink Angels Essence to be able to see key events and conversation memories play out in front of you.
- New skills to learn include decomposition, taking down an enemy silently, and they turn into a pool of spores and cannot be detected.
- Craft an all-new, upgraded metal detector.
- The endings can tie into the main story in that they give you alternative ways to finish the game.
- I found the island to be dense, and that’s a good thing, as it made me want to check everything out. I didn’t have to worry about a long slog across the valley or taking shortcuts; I could just walk around.
- There is a lot of depth in the design thanks to the vast underground systems and networks.
- Honestly, a lot of fun was had just cruising around messing up dudes, and if I triggered a story bit, so be it, but the islands are just a fantastic place to explore.
Atomfall Wicked Isle DLC Review Cons
- You cannot access the DLC if you have progressed too far in the story; that’s all it says, and it doesn’t say how far is too far.
- Still no new game plus.
- You have to have the main story showing all the time at the top.
- The arrows are so weak, you would think you could get a clean headshot shot instant death, but nope.
- You cannot get arrows back from an enemy you killed using them.
- It doesn’t save your options in the quest log. I set it to show just the DLC area, but every time it updates, it wipes the setting and resets the list.
- Part of some missions have you go back to the mainland and then back, it kind of breaks the story as it’s all set up for you to leave the island to leave but then you’re doing whatever you want.
