Chronoscript: The Endless End Unveiled at State of Play – A Haunting 2D Adventure Awaits
Two Worlds, One Endless Curse
Sony’s latest State of Play showcase delivered a surprise reveal: Chronoscript: The Endless End, a haunting 2D exploration action-adventure from DeskWorks Inc. and Shueisha Games. Launching in 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Steam, this hand-drawn epic traps players inside a cursed manuscript that refuses to end.
A Thousand-Year Tale That Writes Itself
Set in AD 2026, players assume the role of an editor who blacks out after a mosquito bite at a remote mountain manor, only to awaken inside a living manuscript. To escape, they must traverse ink-soaked pages, battle corrupted souls, and uncover the tragic stories buried within.
Chronoscript’s gameplay unfolds across two dimensions: richly illustrated 2D platforming and cinematic 3D sequences that punctuate the story. Expect dynamic map reveals, boss attacks from beyond the book, and brief rifts into the “real” world.
