Densha de GO!! Hashirou Yamanote-Sen A Guide Of Sorts
Having played a lot of Densha De Go on the Dreamcast (thankyou roms) I became hooked on the Densha series. Thanks to a now defunct website I was able to get a lot of Densha games for the PC and I was I. Heaven! Seeing the genre arrive on the 3DS was a shock at first but then became an obsession, Enter the PlayStation 4 version (works on Playstation 5) and I knew I had to have it!
By this point it had been a long time since I played a Japanese version of Densha and I knew it would be tough but I imported it anyway. Using the Google translate app I got to work on the basic pop ups. Menus are actually pretty straight forward as are the controls but the pop ups which cost me score, we’re not so easy.
Fast forward to now and I am making this post a collection of my screenshots with the translation via Google translate. I expect errors, I expect Engrish and a whole lot more but be rest assured that I will continue my challenge of finishing this game!
For those that want to know, I have done a handful of arcade mode and about a dozen campaign missions on varying difficulties, Im averaging a B rank but have lots of room for improvement. The game looks really good and is so silky smooth. I look forward to dusting off the PlayStation VR but I want to K ow the ins and outs fully before then. The game eases you in with a set of tutorial missions where you try out starting and stopping in a variety of situations, you then try driving a train in the different weather conditions which are sunny, rain and snow, you learn how the scoring works and the difference between stars and hearts (still a work in progress for me).
Arcade mode is where I like to explore the controls and mechanics at play because I can hone my trade on easier tracks, and have an easier time. I am impressed with it so far but nothing has sold me as all new additions outside of the VR but its early days and I have only driven two train types so far and I know I can get more.
Apologies for the quality of the pictures but this is a quick and dirty post with quick and dirty pictures!
Let me know if you want some bad gameplay to go with this and I can see what I can do!

As you can see learning the difference between the pop ups is the challenge but I’m getting there. The bonus goals is an always changing always learning affair but again it’s a case of the more I play the more I know what is expected of me. The QTE that pop up didn’t need a picture as its two flashing red icons on the track and a sign pop up, press the horn straight away and they turn green and bosh job done 3 stars!
New screens and translations-
I have made huge progress on the pop ups, I just need to get screenshots.
