  • Racing gameplay.
  • Two game modes – quick race, and championships,
  • Four car and co-pilot teams – Steel Lotus, Benzin Motors, Gassol, and Northern Lights.
  • Not Official cars but they sure look like Official cars.
  • Your logbook keeps tabs on all your events, progress, Championships, wins, and rewards.
  • Every event gives reward coupons for money, cars, car classes, custom parts, and liveries.
  • Simple controls – accelerate, brake, hand brake, reset car, and switch camera.
  • Fast loading times.
  • Your Co-driver shouts out the corners and hazards.
  • The locations look fantastic.
  • Very tight controls.
  • Two driving views – behind the car and in the car.
  • When I am event you get a progression counter.
  • The logbook looks really good and inviting.
  • Time checkpoints pop up red or green numbers to show how well you are doing.
  • I like how after an event if you get a new car part it shows it on a blacked-out version of your car.
  • You can replay tracks and it’s highly encouraged.
  • There are local and online leaderboards.
  • Very addictive.
  • You add time when hitting barriers.
  • Each stage is very bite-sized and usually under 2 minutes a stage.
  • The teams are tied to locations so you can jump between teams to try out new locations and driving conditions.
  • Earn cash in the championships.
  • Quick race lets you pick any owned car and unlocked track.
  • Use cash to buy cars in quick races and buy customized parts and install them.
  • Four locations with each having 24 tracks within them including reverse versions of the tracks.
  • The game is a lot of fun to play.

#DRIVE Rally Preview Cons:

  • Related the handling is tight but it does take some getting used to especially how ineffective the handbrake can be.
  • Hitting the walls and barriers is overly punishing.
  • On loading screens the game shows the Y button as X, it shows an Xbox controller.
  • No signs come up for the corners just speech and subtitles.
  • You don’t get a mini-map.
  • The game is skirting both arcade and sim but never commits to one.
  • No damage model.
  • Your co-driver repeats one-liners a lot.
  • Harsh time penalties for hitting barriers are more because the tracks are quite thin.
  • Not a fan of a track showing 100 percent and yet I’m still racing 20 seconds later.
  • The Co-driver for Northern Lights is so annoying and loves to just shout and scold you all the time.
  • There are no online or local multiplayer modes, the only online you have is leaderboards.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
