Echo Generation Review (Xbox Series S)

Our Echo Generation review takes us on a turn-based adventure game about a gang of kids investigating supernatural occurrences while battling monsters and mechs to save their small town.

Echo Generation Review Pros:

Beautiful voxel graphics.
5.9GB download size.
1000 Gamerscore.
RPG gameplay.
Tutorials happen as you play.
Turn-based combat.
The 3D world with a cool as fuck system where the background is blurry and gets clearer the close you get.
The World is so inviting and detailed.
Button prompts show.
Stranger Things vibe to it all.
A handful of characters to play as.
Skill points govern what attacks/abilities you can play in a battle.
Each character earns EXP and levels up which allows you to pick either health, power, or skill points to increase.
Some wonderful locations and vistas.
Attacks initiate a mini-game style button press that changes for each attack, nailing it does more damage, and messing up does leave damage.
Time your blocks to take less damage in combat.
Has a Costume Quest energy to it all.

Echo Generation Review Cons:

The beginning is slow and painful as it doesn’t help guide you so you know what’s expected.
A lot of performance issues like a slowdown, glitching through walls, etc.
The story is a bit up and down, especially with the pacing.
At times it feels like a game I have played many times before.
Gets repetitive.
Combat begins to outstay its welcome.
Checkpointing means you will land up playing sections over and over.
