  • Supports mouse and keyboard.
  • Graphics settings – resolution, display mode, HDR, v-sync, texture quality, and FPS limit (all though mine is always greyed out at 60fps).
  • Each controller type shows in-game and has three presets and four custom presets.
  • The mouse and keyboard have three presets.
  • Game settings – gimme putt, teeing up, spectators, shot start camera, button guide text speed, auto advance, and auto advance speed.
  • Audio settings – master volume, BGM, system, ambient, voice language (English and Japanese), voice character, voice caddie, and voice spectators.
  • The data menu includes house tips, library (watch saved replays), manage caddies, stats, and manage golfers.
  • Seven caddies to unlock and use.
  • Customise caddies and golfers by unlocking and buying new clothing items, club types, ball types, etc.
  • Twenty-nine golfers to unlock and use.
  • Stats it tracks are – player info, course scores, golfers unlocked and level, caddies unlocked and level, and putt success rate.
  • Golf lessons are the tutorial hub and are split into lesson types that are replayable: traditional shots, advanced shots, gauge shots, applying spin, traditional spin, wind tips, putting, approach mode, shot mode, understanding your lie, weather effects, and stamina effects.
  • Arcade golf gameplay.
  • Training mode is where you can change course and gear on the fly as you practice.
  • Single player modes – challenge, world tour, stroke play, match play, wacky golf, and solo round.
  • Multiplayer modes – stroke play, match play, and wacky golf.
  • Online game modes – group match and world tournament.
  • Earn cash from playing and use it in the shop.
  • Every golfer and caddy earn loyalty, which is basically exp, and as they level up, you unlock new abilities or controls, new shop items, gear and buffs.
  • World Tour is the story mode of the game, and you can elect to do it quickly or slowly, which dictates all the talking, so if you pick fast, you just play golf over and over without any interactions outside of the course.
  • In the world tour character select screen, dots say if the currently selected golfer is locked, new, to do, clear, or complete in world tour progress.
  • The world tour is split up into chapters and is a mix of official and unofficial events, and you earn an overall rank in each.
  • The World Tour option of quick or slow can be changed at any time in between events.
  • Food, gear, and levelling up can and will affect your stats, and gear can add specific buffs.
  • You can watch and save replays.
  • Fast loading times.
  • Big colourful 3D courses to play on.
  • You have five camera angles to switch between.
  • Every game mode awards loyalty, including the single-player modes like solo play.
  • Weather can be set to one type, or you can choose the two types of weather that change.
  • Outside of tournaments and world tour, you can set the weather, the wind, and any penalties like bunker shot,s add more shots and the like.
  • You can play 3,6,9, or 18 holes in modes and choose in or out variations.
  • Wacky golf has four modes – colourful (random surprises), scramble (teams take turns hitting the ball), survival (steal each other’s clubs), and boom golf (random explosions can happen to your ball).
  • Stroke play is the best score on each hole wins.
  • Match play is the first to win 3 holes.
  • World Tour has the usual tournaments and events, but also boss fight encounters where it’s the first to win 3 holes wins.
  • Challenge mode has three difficulties – Easy, Normal and Hard. Compete in events to fill the VS gauge, then face off against a new character and beat them to unlock them.
  • Day and nighttime courses.
  • Unlock and buy passes to new courses.
  • Online lets you create an open or private room, and you have a find room search and a quick match.
  • World tournament says it’s set matches, but it isn’t live yet.
  • Three ways to play in terms of hitting the ball. The traditional hit the button three times to do power, and hit control, then a gauge one, and finally a harder one where you set the power via the swing of the golfer, then time hitting the ball with a shrinking gauge.
  • The stamina system is where the golfer gets tired and fatigued, which affects how much power you have in shots, but eventually the gauge for shots starts pulsing, so it’s harder to use.
  • The game is still a lot of fun to play and just enough arcade and sim to be an accessible golf game.
  • Food is used to temporarily boost stars, so it’s good for tricky courses, or for me, it’s for boss fights.
  • Multiple-choice events pop up in the world tour mode.
  • Many different cup types, like tornado that drags balls in, mega cups, regular, and smaller cups.

EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS Review Cons

  • The mouse cursor has a habit of staying on screen at the worst times, and always appears red when in certain menus.
  • You don’t always get an option to save a replay.
  • Your golfer does these stupid animations that slow the pace down, and also means you have to wait until they’ve done it before you can line up your shot better. It’s frustrating and pointless.
  • Having an English voice in is really bad as the characters are repetitive and corny, saying things like cringe or ball something. I forget as the medication has kicked in, and I’m just blocking out the haters.
  • The menus are not all clear to use, and you can easily set up matches incorrectly.
  • It takes absolutely ages to get more characters and gear, as a lot of gear is locked behind loyalty levels.
  • The Story is not needed and makes the quick mode in world tour a godsend.
  • You can click to end a player’s shot, which is handy against the CPU, but it does mean that if you time the press wrong, you go into your swing.
  • The game lacks the same life as the previous games in the series, with no hub to explore or the charm of the characters and locations.
  • The game doesn’t save your story choice of quick or slow, and always resets back to slow.
  • You cannot remap the controls.
  • No accessibility options to help with putting lines, shot lines or Colourblind, etc.
  • The Pac-Man pre-order golfer is annoying with his wacka wacka sounds and how he obscures so much of the screen.
  • The caddy is very repetitive amd annoying and gets in the way.
  • There is no real reason other than to punish yourself to use the stamina system.
  • It is annoying to have controls and shots like that locked behind loyalty.
  • Just be prepared for a lot of grinding.

Summary

EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS – The Thrills and Highlights of Gameplay:
EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS swings in with a vibrant mix of arcade and sim elements, offering a golf experience that’s both accessible and packed with depth. From traditional three-click shots to advanced swing gauges, the game caters to all skill levels. Wacky Golf modes like Boom Golf and Survival add chaotic fun, while Challenge Mode and World Tour keep progression fresh with unlockable golfers, caddies, and gear. Loyalty systems reward play across all modes, and training hubs let you tweak gear and practice freely. Whether it’s solo rounds, boss fights, or online tournaments, EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS keeps the fairway fresh with variety and replayability.

EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS – Where It Falls Short: Key Negatives:
Despite its charm, EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS stumbles in a few frustrating areas. The stamina system feels more punishing than strategic, and loyalty-based unlocks demand heavy grinding. Menus are unclear, match setups can go wrong, and the lack of accessibility options is a glaring omission. English voice-overs are repetitive and corny, and animations slow down gameplay unnecessarily. The absence of a hub or character charm from earlier entries leaves the world feeling hollow, and the inability to remap controls or save story mode preferences adds to the faff. Expect repetition, limited replay saving, and a few UI quirks that get in the way of smooth play.

EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS – Immersive Story and Narrative Elements:
World Tour mode in EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS offers a structured campaign with chapters, events, and boss fights, but the narrative itself feels optional at best. The Quick mode bypasses dialogue entirely, letting you jump straight into gameplay, which many will prefer given the lack of meaningful story depth. Multiple-choice events and character progression add a layer of engagement, but overall, the story is more of a wrapper than a driver. It’s there if you want it, but most players will likely skip the chatter and head straight to the next tee.

EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS – Visual and Performance Aspects:
EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS pops with bright, cartoon-style visuals and colourful 3D courses that look great across day and night settings. Fast loading times and five camera angles keep things snappy and flexible. Graphics settings are robust, though FPS lock at 60 is a limitation. Full controller support, mouse and keyboard presets, and detailed audio options round out the package. While the visuals are cheerful and clean, the UI can be messy, and the persistent mouse cursor bug is a nuisance. Still, performance holds steady, and the game runs smoothly even with all the bells and whistles.

EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS – Overall Verdict: Is It Worth Playing?:
EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS delivers a fun, feature-rich golf experience with enough arcade flair and sim depth to satisfy casual players and completionists alike. The gameplay variety, unlockable content, and quirky modes make it a joy to play, even if some systems feel grindy or undercooked. It’s not perfect; ui issues, repetitive voices, and stamina quirks drag it down, but the core loop remains entertaining. If you’re after a golf game that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still offers plenty to master, EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS is well worth a swing.

Back of the Box Quotes:

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
