Explosionade DX Review (PlayStation 4)
For our Explosionade DX Review, we join our friends who are storming the Horronym Fortress but Colonel Bouche left you to guard the supply depot. Disregarding orders you open the depot to find a gigantic, prototype mech, and carnage ensues.

- Nice graphics.
- 216.7MB download size.
- Platinum trophy.
- Works on Playstation 5.
- How To Play section.
- Can rebind controls.
- Hude settings-height and display.
- Online leaderboards.
- 3 difficulties-chilled, normal and serious.
- Game speed-25/50/75/100/125/150.
- A brief tutorial on controls in-game.
- 1-2 player local co-op support.
- Twin-stick shooter gameplay.
- Plays out on a 2D platformer but with twin-stick shooting.
- Actions-shooting, grenades, jump, jetpack, and a shield that can regen along with a shield bounce.
- The camera can zoom in and out.
- The game is made up of rooms where you must kill all enemies, collect Gold and open the exit.
- Short bite-sized levels.
- Grenades regen.
- Can break down walls and platforms with grenades.
- Pop up text for clears and score.
- Simple to learn controls.
- Own in-game trophy pop-ups. (same as the actual Playstation trophies)
- Fast-paced action.
- Cascade-collect 10 gold bars to activate a cascade explosion whereby you will get a time-limited ability like infinite grenades or fast shooting.
- Boss battles.
- Can play how you want in terms of pickups and when to clear a level.
- Score chaser Mentality.
- Slight puzzle elements.
- End of level breakdown for time, score, time bonus, and any clear bonuses.
- Can have a separate save for each difficulty.
- Quite an easy set of trophies barring maybe the high difficulty run.
Explosionade DX Review Cons:
- The learning curve with some of the movement mechanics.
- Very busy on screen and can be hard to make things out.
- Levels are so short it feels like you are staring at menus more than playing.
- Basic shooter gameplay.
- Enemies are very cookie cutter and there is only a small stable of types.
- Outside of personal score-chasing, multiple playthrough enthusiasm is low.
- Way too easy on chilled and normal difficulties.
- No online co-op.
- Little variety in gameplay terms.
- Aside from the occasional cascade bonus, the game is generic.
