Gear.Club Unlimited 3 Review Pros

  • Decent graphics.
  • 45.1GB download size.
  • Graphics mode – Quality and performance.
  • Gameplay settings – brake assist strength, anti-skid, and manual or automatic gearbox.
  • Officially licensed cars.
  • Audio sliders for – music, interface, in-game, radio music, interface, and in-game race sounds.
  • Five controller presets, and vibration can be turned on and off.
  • Racing gameplay.
  • Two game modes – Free play and story mode.
  • In-game still art scenes and interactions.
  • 3 game difficulties – Beginner, intermediate, and expert.
  • Six driving views, including the dashboard and far away.
  • Fully 3D game world and tracks.
  • Earn and lose points as you race for things like overtaking, crashing, clean sections, etc.
  • Tight handling.
  • Career mode has you doing a few Intro races in an RX, and then you choose your starting car, colour, wheel colour, and calliper colour.
  • The garage is a cool addition whereby you can buy equipment, furniture, etc and then customise and layout your own garage design. Hire staff to walk the garage and display cars.
  • Five weather types – Sunny, clear morning, after sunset, sundown, and misty morning.
  • Equipment, and staff that you buy will give you upgrades and buffs to your cars and is how the game does the stats for cars. It’s something new and is a nice little touch, especially as some staff generate money for you.
  • Many events to take part in, from races to time trials, racing as you do on the Tokyo challenge routes, where you deplete an opponent’s health bar by beating them in a race.
  • Event selection is split into the main progression and many optional bonus events. You have full control over what you play, and any special events will have one-off special rewards.
  • You are racing in two countries – Japan and France.
  • Cars on display can be interacted with, like opening the doors, bonnet and walking around it.
  • The cars are, as I said, official, and they look beautiful.
  • Clear on-screen HUD.
  • Earn bonus rewards by filling the unlimited bar by driving fast past traffic.
  • Decent loading times.
  • Single player game modes are – Race, Duel, Time Trial, Highway Rush, and free roam.
  • The game supports two-player multiplayer using the same modes as the single player modes.
  • In free play, you can choose any race location, how many opponents (1 to 9), opponent car category, difficulty of AI, and weather.
  • The game is a lot of fun, from the graphics to the driving, and the locations are fantastic. I do like the customisation aspect of not just cars but also the garage.

Gear.Club Unlimited 3 Review Cons

  • No online multiplayer.
  • The tutorials, if you can call them that, are basic and rare.
  • You cannot remap the controls.
  • The general game loop is slow, and it just takes so long to get going. It felt like I was just doing the same set of races over and over.
  • No car damage model, so cars always look brand new.
  • There is no in-game achievements system.
  • No leaderboards, whether it be local or online.
  • Judging distance and passing cars is surprisingly difficult.
  • Performance on the whole is solid, but it can go a bit juddery and get screen tearing. It’s funny that I got it more when in the garage more than anything.

Summary

Gear.Club Unlimited 3: The Thrills and Highlights of Gameplay Gear.Club Unlimited 3 wastes no time throwing you into its globe-spanning world of asphalt, attitude, and automotive obsession. You jump from the sun-kissed French coast to the neon-lit highways of Japan, taking on races that mix high-speed chaos with a strong focus on car culture and club building. With more than forty customisable machines and a new highway mode that turns traffic into a tactical puzzle, the game pushes its arcade sim hybrid identity harder than ever. It is fast, stylish, and built to keep you chasing the next win.

Gear.Club Unlimited 3: Where It Falls Short, Key Negatives Gear.Club Unlimited 3 brings a lot of energy, but it does not escape a few rough edges. The handling can feel inconsistent depending on the car and surface, and the highway mode can swing from thrilling to frustrating when traffic patterns get too aggressive. Some events feel a little repetitive, and the progression pace may not click with everyone. These moments do not ruin the experience, but they do stand out during longer sessions.

Gear.Club Unlimited 3 Immersive Story and Narrative Elements Gear.Club Unlimited 3 does not lean on a traditional story, instead letting the journey from France to Japan act as its narrative backbone. The sense of travelling across countries, discovering new locations, and building your club gives the game a natural flow. It is more about the feeling of progression and the excitement of unlocking new cars and challenges than any scripted plot.

Gear.Club Unlimited 3: Visual and Performance Aspects
Gear.Club Unlimited 3 looks fantastic, with bright locations, detailed cars, and a clean presentation that makes every race pop. From the sun-drenched coastlines to the neon-soaked streets of Japan, the game delivers a strong visual punch. Performance stays smooth, and the overall presentation feels like a big step forward for the series. It is a sharp, colourful racer that knows how to show off its world.

Gear.Club Unlimited 3 Overall Verdict: Is It Worth Playing? Gear.Club Unlimited 3 is a fast, stylish leap forward for the long-running saga. It blends high-speed racing with deep customisation and a globe-trotting sense of adventure. While not perfect, it delivers a fun and addictive experience that fans of arcade racers and car culture will enjoy. If you want a road trip that mixes pure speed with personality, this one is worth jumping into.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
