  • Steam achievements.
  • Steam trading cards.
  • Partial controller support.
  • Graphics – full screen, resolution, resolution scale slider, anti-aliasing, post-processing, shadow quality, texture quality, fog, bloom, pixelated effect, camera shake, and brightness.
  • Four chapters – Outpost Texas, New Baltia, Moscow, and Neo Tokyo.
  • Male or female character choice.
  • Cool soundtrack.
  • Top-down view.
  • Inspired by the original Grand Theft Auto games.
  • Arrows show missions and points of interest.
  • Tutorial pop-ups.
  • Four radio stations.
  • The hacking mode will allow you to alter and change things around you from people to vehicles to machines.
  • Steal any car you want when you want.
  • Feels like a living breathing world.
  • Districts of the maps have their own gangs complete with their own stories and missions to take on.
  • Plays best with a keyboard at the moment.
  • Police will give chase if you break the law and it triggers a wanted level that rises if you carry on breaking the law.
  • Upon death, you lose everything you had on you.

GlitchPunk Preview Cons:

  • Only the New Baltia chapter is available at the moment.
  • No controller settings.
  • The controller doesn’t work in menus properly.
  • Long loading times.
  • Several cases of the game locking up or not booting correctly.
  • Driving is all done on the left stick and is a nightmare due to being loose and too sensitive.
  • Button prompts are keyboard only.
  • No voicework.
  • Not all the controls are on the controller.
  • Bad performance.
  • Missions don’t seem to show up when going to phone booths.
  • A very dark game despite a brightness slider.
  • A lot of blurry out-of-focus-looking images and buildings.
  • Cold open with little in the way of guidance.
  • Even with a keyboard, the controls are rough with you having to use the mouse to aim your attacks so it’s a mix of both and it’s clumsy and awkward.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
