Grid Ranger Preview (Steam Early Access)

Grid Ranger Preview, GRID RANGER is a short, 3D shmuplike with laser-sharp aesthetics and a retro-futuristic soundtrack. Dodge and blast your way through 3 super-intense levels and see what lies beyond the grid…

Grid Ranger Preview Pros:

  • Cool wireframe graphics.
  • 313.75MB Download size.
  • Graphics settings – gain, gamma, quality, fullscreen, auto suspend, and Hud type.
  • Shooter gameplay.
  • Simple controls, you use the mouse to move and hold down a button to shoot.
  • It has a big-level design so you do have a fair bit of movement.
  • Fast-paced.
  • A simple three lives and you out gameplay loop.
  • The game looks really cool.
  • I really think something is here but it’s way too early.
  • The level does mix it up a lot making it a Shmup and reaction-based experience.
  • At the end of each section, you get a boss fight.
  • The music is really good.

Grid Ranger Preview Cons:

  • No controller support.
  • You don’t get any sort of tutorial.
  • Doesn’t offer online or offline leaderboards.
  • You cannot remap the controls.
  • No way to just keep tabs on your score.
  • The levels don’t randomise or anything so starting again is repetitive.

Gaming since the Atari 2600, I enjoy the weirdness in games counting Densha De Go and RC De Go as my favourite titles of all time. I prefer gaming of old where buying games from a shop was a thing, Being social in person was a thing. Join me as I attempt to adapt to this new digital age!
