Heroine Anthem ZERO II Scalescars Oath Review (Steam)
Our Heroine Anthem ZERO II Scalescars Oath Review has us traveling to a world that was freed of chaos, the Twin Virgin Saints started the circle of the seven doomsday. When the lands were flooded on the sixth doomsday, after the descendants of the Savior received blessings from God, they resurrected under the newborn Tree of Life Terasyr, establishing the royal city of Vuzahem. But ichthyopagion still continued to grow, making clear that the Gods have not forgiven the world. People must find answers to the meaning of war while surviving the sins and punishments before Judgement Day. The story includes multiple subtle metaphors for the relationship between God and humans.

Summary
The style of this game is nice on the eye with a bit of a hand-drawn Anime style, it definitely has great-looking characters and enemies, and locations are varied and detailed with back and foreground animations. My problem stems from the actual gameplay, the game does a bad job of explaining things like controls, mechanics, and general nice-to-knows, no the platforming is tedious with platforms not shown or highlighted, combat is just very button mashy along with the foreground art getting in the way. At no point does the game actually help move things along so you can go quite far in the wrong way, or not find a way to your objective. Translation issues have large parts of the story not making sense or missing out on information. I never felt like o was enjoying myself or that the game offered anything I hadn’t seen before. All style and very little substance are how I would describe it.
