The Ultimate Hole Digging Master Guide: Digging Deep and Getting Rich

The First 100m: From Rocks to Riches

Start your journey digging straight down from the beginning. Stay in the centre of the path to avoid getting blocked by rock formations. For the sake of simplicity, I went straight down the middle, but a bit to the left because I love to be different.

The first lot of minerals you will find are stone and coal. These are plentiful and serve you well for racking up some quick cash to upgrade your digging game. As you hit the -40m mark, you will start to see red gem-like minerals, which give more money than the stone and coal.

Around the -65m mark, you get into the real money with Gold becoming your new obsession. Again, this will now give you even more money than before, so don’t stock up on your way down with rocks.

The Chase for Rarity: -100m to -140m

Passing the -100m starts netting you rarer minerals, and they carry a hefty sale price and are quite plentiful.

Be ready for a day at the beach after digging past -130m – -135m as the dirt becomes a sand-like material, again housing new minerals but also giving you a rest from all the brown.

Sand is short-lived as -140m takes you into the lava-like ground, and this brings all the shiny gems. Green mineral veins are commonplace here, as is the volcanic ore, which sets you up nicely for making a load of cash. Be aware that there are a lot of rock formations that require upgrades and/or dynamite to clear. One important thing to remember is that there are actual burning-you-alive volcanic rock formations, and it will burn you so fast. Just upgrade and get it taken out to avoid a burnt bum.

Final Depths: The Ice and the Treasure

After Volcanic rock and heat comes ice, and at -210m you hit the Antarctic, and with it come even more valuable and rare materials. This area is generally easier to navigate with fewer rock formations trying to kill you!

At around -279m, the screen will briefly flash red. This is you breaking out of the ground, as it were, and hitting the bottom.

The hole digging master max depth is -290m, and you will find yourself in this throne room-like location with a chest. Open it at your peril, and well done, you made it!

Key Artefact Locations

Based on our research, here is a guide to the depths where you can expect to find artefacts. Remember that their locations can vary slightly, but these are solid reference points.

  • First Artefacts (around 105m to 129m): You may find the Artefact Fox or the Artefact Statue around these depths.
  • Secret Mine Artefacts (around 157m): Keep an eye out for these. The Artefact Old Pistol may appear in a secret mine at this depth.
  • Mid-Way Artefacts (around 205m to 264m): A few artefacts may be found around these depths, including the Demon Mask and the Bronze Dagger.
  • Final Artefacts (around 275m): As you near the max depth, the Vase artefact may be found in a secret mine around this depth.

Reaching the Max Depth

  • Final Push (275m and beyond): Stay on your path as you get closer to the end. The final Artefact (the Vase) is often found in a secret mine around 275m. From there, you can push on to the very bottom. The hole digging master max depth is 290m, and you can see that in the video as we break through.

With this guide, you have everything you need to become a true Hole Digging Master. The path to the deepest minerals is now clear! If this guide helped you, please leave a comment below and let us know what other guides you’d like to see.
